HKQ Kids Announces Free Car Seat Checkup Event

Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn Fund for Children’s Advocacy, also known as HKQ Kids will be sponsoring a Car Seat Safety Check in the parking lot of HKQ Law, 600 Third St., Kingston PA. Certified car seat specialists from Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance will be performing the safety checks from 10am-2pm on Saturday, October 12th, 2019.

HKQ Kids, founded by personal injury Attorney Joe Quinn of the law firm of Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn, is dedicated to keeping kids safe through education and awareness. Over the past 12 years, HKQ Kids has distributed over 10,000 free bicycle helmets to children age 12 and under throughout Northeastern PA. HKQ Kids have sponsored Babysitting classes in conjunction with the American Red Cross and have participated in Trunk or Treats that provide a safe environment for children and their families to go trick or treating at Halloween. HKQ Kids was established in October 2005 to promote child safety through community outreach and educational programs. The fund is administered by the Luzerne Foundation.

Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance is dedicated to protecting the areas they serve. Its headquarters located in the heart of Pittston’s downtown, GPRA merged with neighboring Jenkins Township Ambulance and Exeter Community Ambulance forming one of the only regional emergency medical providers in the area. GPRA also operates a station in Exeter. Additionally, GPRA operates the only community-based paramedic service in northern Luzerne County, named Luzerne County Medic 29. Recently, staff members at Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance completed an intensive week-long course reviewing children’s’ car seat installations and safety. The staff at GPRA will be inspecting car seats at the HKQ Law parking lot, making any necessary adjustments to help keep kids safe.

Additionally, the PA Department of Health honored Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance with its 2019 EMS Agency of the Year Award in recognition of the company’s care within the communities they serve. HKQ Law Attorney Mike Lombardo serves as Vice President of Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants should be sure to bring their car seat in the vehicle where it will be used most often.

As Hourigan, Kluger and Quinn addresses the concerns raised by COVID-19, the health and safety of our clients, employees and friends of the firm remain our top priority.

These are very difficult and scary times and we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and symptom free. We recognize that so many of you are understandably anxious about your health, the economic impact of this pandemic and all of the consequences of social isolation.

We also recognize that many of you are anxious about how the coronavirus is impacting the Court systems, our firm and your cases. Although all of our offices are closed, our firm has remained fully operational and we have initiated procedures that allow all of our attorneys and staff to work remotely from their homes. Each of us and our staff will respond to any emails and calls about your cases as quickly as possible.

Our Federal and State Courts have instituted significant changes in their calendars as a result of the coronavirus. Although most courthouses are closed to the public, and Hearings and Trials will be delayed for some time, there are matters that can proceed telephonically and by video. Despite these changes in the Court calendars, we are working diligently on your cases and are determined to do whatever we possibly can to assure an early and just recovery for you and your loved ones. Even under these difficult circumstances, we believe that "Nobody will work harder for you than we will."

With regard to new potential clients, we are not in a position to have an in-person new client meeting, but we will be conducting these initial meetings via phone. New potential clients should call us for a free telephone consultation at (570) 287-3000.
