Law Firm To Sponsor Free Holiday Movie at Kirby Center
December 12th, 2015
KINGSTON, Pa. – The law firm of Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn will sponsor a free holiday showing of the popular animated children’s movie, “Minions,” on Saturday, Dec. 12, at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Wilkes-Barre. It is the seventh year in a row that the law firm, headquartered in Kingston with offices in Scranton, has sponsored a free holiday movie at the Kirby Center.
Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. and the movie will start at 2 p.m. Pre-movie entertainment will start at 1:30 p.m. with a children’s sing-along and pre-movie entertainment. The movie is open to all families with children under 12 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Seating will be limited to the first 1,800 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Everyone attending the movie will get free popcorn and choice of water or juice. Children will receive a free Crayola Color & Paint Set.
“It gives us so much joy to be able to bring smiles to the faces of children from our community during the holidays,” said Attorney Joe Quinn, a senior principal at the law firm. “It’s an annual tradition that everyone at our law firm truly enjoys.”
“Minions” begins at the dawn of time. Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters - from T. rex to Napoleon - the Minions find themselves without someone to serve and fall into a deep depression. But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he - alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob - ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow. The trio embarks upon a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill (played by Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock), the world's first supervillainess ever. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in modern London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date … saving all of Minionkind from annihilation. In addition to Bullock, characters are played by Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Steve Carell and Geoffrey Rush, among others.
