A California food-preparation company that operates a Midvalley facility is suing two former Upvalley employees for allegedly damaging the business's reputation.
Two Chefs on a Roll Inc., a Los Angeles-area-based manufacturer of dips, sauces, baked goods and appetizers that has a facility at the Jessup Small Business Center, filed suit in Lackawanna County Court against Michael McKeon of Fell Twp. and Timothy Dudley of Carbondale.
The suit, filed by attorney Joseph Kluger, seeks unspecified damages and asks the court to enjoin the men from making threats against company employees or disparaging remarks about the company and its employees. It also seeks an injunction to prevent the men from coming within 500 feet of the company's Jessup plant.
Mr. McKeon was a materials handler in the company's warehouse from November until he was terminated in August for failing to appear at work, the suit states. Mr. Dudley worked in shipping and receiving from October until he quit in August, according to the suit.
This month, the two men began posting messages on Facebook that apparently threatened Bradley Johnson, the warehouse manager, the suit states. The posts include references to shooting a person with a rifle and a disparaging parody of the company's name.
The company uses a storage site in the same building as BAE Systems, the suit states, and Mr. McKeon may begin working for BAE, a division of a British conglomerate that makes ballistic helmets in Jessup.
Efforts to reach Mr. McKeon and Mr. Dudley were unsuccessful.
