HKD Listed as "Best Lawyers in America"
(Kingston, PA - November 5, 2012) The 2013 edition of “Best Lawyers in America,” the nation’s oldest and most respected legal peer-review publication, has designated Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn a “Tier 1 Best Law Firm” in Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley for personal injury and medical malpractice litigation.
The Tier 1 designation, which is issued annually by Best Lawyers in conjunction with
U.S. News & World Report, only includes firms with the highest scores in a variety of criteria. A Tier 1 ranking is a special distinction that signals “a unique combination of excellence and breadth of expertise,” according to Best Lawyers.
In addition to the firm designation, three HKQ attorneys have been named to the annual “Best Lawyers in America” individual listings – Attorney Joe Quinn for personal injury and medical malpractice, and Attorneys Michelle M. Quinn and David A. Saba for personal injury. In 2011 and 2012, Quinn, who has been named to “Best Lawyers in America” every year since it began publication 26 years ago, was named “Personal Injury Litigator of the Year” for Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley.
“Being recognized by Best Lawyers, both individually and as a firm, is especially gratifying because the designations are based on surveys of other attorneys who are our peers and competitors,” said Quinn. “This recognition is a tribute to the incredible teamwork of our attorneys, paralegals, nurses and staff.”
Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys and firms by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their peers.
Quinn and the team at HKQ have gained national recognition for having won many of the largest jury verdicts and settlements in the history of Northeastern Pennsylvania in cases involving medical malpractice, wrongful death, vehicle accidents and products liability. As a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates, Quinn is considered among the top 100 personal injury attorneys in the United States.
In addition to the Inner Circle, he is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, which includes the top 500 personal injury lawyers in the world, and the American Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is certified as a trial specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is past President of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and the Luzerne County Bar Association, and a past member of the Board of Governors of The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He has been listed every year since 1987 in The Best Lawyers in America, and has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer every year since the program began.
