December 6th, 2016
| Lars H. Anderson
(Kingston, December 6, 2016) Attorney Lars Anderson, Hourigan, Kluger and Quinn, will present on Thursday, December 15 at 6:00 pm to the Wyoming Valley Rotary Club. The meeting will take place at The Beaumont Inn, Dallas, PA.
Attorney Anderson will present on the changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act Overtime Regulations that will affect the salary basis requirement for overtime exemption from $455 a week ($23,600 annually) to $913 a week ($47,476 annually). The changes were slated to go into effect on December 1, 2016, but were recently halted due to a temporary nationwide injunction by a Federal Judge in Texas.
“The new regulation is halted temporarily, so it is important that employers are educated and prepared,” said Attorney Anderson. “Changes in exemption status and overtime may affect employees that have traditionally been classified as exempt.”
