Lars Anderson Business Lawyer(Kingston, PA - May 15, 2013) Attorney Lars H. Anderson of the law firm of Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn was recently elected chairman-elect of the Young Lawyers Division of the Pennsylvania Bar Association during the organization’s annual meeting in Pittsburgh. He also received the PBA’s 2013 Special Achievement Award for helping to spearhead the association’s annual community relations campaign while serving as vice chairman of the PBA’s Community and Public Relations Committee.

“I am tremendously honored to serve as chairman of the Young Lawyers Division and humbled by the PBA’s recognition of my efforts on the Community and Public Relations Committee,” Anderson said. “In my new capacity as chairman of the YLD, I hope to be able to engage young attorneys in the important work the PBA does across the Commonwealth.”

Anderson was elected to the position of chairman-elect by YLD members from across the state, and he will automatically ascend to the position of chairman next year. The YLD is composed of all PBA members who have not reached their 38th birthday before the PBA Annual Meeting, or who are 38 or older and have been practicing five years or less. The division engages in a variety of outreach activities, including coordination of the nation’s largest high school mock trial competition; publication of a quarterly newsletter; and free basic estate planning documents for first responders through its “Wills for Heroes” program.

The Special Achievement Award was given to Anderson for his work on the PBA’s annual community relations campaign, which was officially kicked off in October in the state Capitol in Harrisburg. The PBA partnered with 36 county bar associations to distribute thousands of brochures in communities across the Commonwealth about legal protections for children.
