Sexual Harassment Focus of Mock Trial

A female assistant district attorney in Washington, D.C., gets poor ratings and is transferred after she objects to inappropriate remarks and behavior by a co-worker.

The lawsuit she files will be played out Oct. 31 at a mock trial in the William J. Nealon Federal Building and Courthouse under the auspices of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Labor Management Council and the state's Bureau of Mediation.

The purpose is to illustrate the legal aspects of sexual harassment in the workplace. Attorneys can receive continuing education credits for attending.

The court enactment will be provided by the Abington Heights Mock Trial Team with Chief Federal Judge Thomas Vanaskie presiding.

The two-hour trial will be followed by a 45-minute discussion.

Taking part will be attorneys Alexia Blake, Richard Goldberg and Robert Mariani.

Registration will start at 8 a.m. and court will convene at 9 a.m.. Adjournment is scheduled for noon. A continental breakfast will be served. The cost is $20 for NAPALM members, $30 for others.
