The attorney will be honored at a testimonial dinner at the Jewish Community Center.

B'nai B'rith Amos Lodge No. 126 will honor Richard S. Bishop with its 51st annual Americanism Award next month. Mr. Bishop was chosen for the award in honor of his years of community service to many cultural, civic and religious organizations.

The award will be presented at a testimonial dinner at the Scranton Jewish Community Center on May 18.

The annual B'nai B'rith winner is selected by past recipients and representatives of local service organizations.

Mr. Bishop is a partner in the law firm of Hourigan, Kluger and Quinn, where he specializes in commercial law, estate planning and real estate.

He serves as president of the Mid-Atlantic Region of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. He is president of the Glen Oak Country Club, vice president of ARC and board member of many other community organizations.

He received the Jewish Community Center Man of the Year Award in 1996 and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Scranton Counseling Center in 1997.

Mr. Bishop and his wife, Faye, reside in Scranton and have three children, David, Stefanie and Craig.

All members of the community are invited. The event begins with a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30.
