Business Lawyer, Attorney Jane Smedley Anzalone

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

Jane Smedley Anzalone joined Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn’s Business Team in November 2011 as an Associate. While she primarily focuses on creditor’s rights, banking law and all aspects of commercial litigation, her practice also extends to education law, guardianships and employment law. Attorney Smedley is also an adjunct professor at King’s College.

Attorney Smedley Anzalone is a 1998 cum laude graduate of King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, where she received a bachelor’s degree in biology, a certificate in molecular biology and a minor in secondary education. Her research was published in 2000 in “A series of laboratory exercises utilizing luxR gene of Vibrio Fischeri and gfp gene of Aequoria Victoria to teach the broad application of polymerase chain reaction,” in the Journal of Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology, co-authored by J.A. Slock, P.M. Farrugia, T.A. Horn, J.A. Phillips and M.J. Romanko.

In 2001, she graduated from The Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law. As a Dickinson student, Attorney Smedley Anzalone was an intern for Judge Patrick J. Toole of the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas. Following graduation, she spent 10 years as law clerk to Judge Robert A. Mazzoni of the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas. She was contemporaneously an Associate at Vinsko & Associates, focusing her practice on personal injury and employment rights.

Attorney Smedley Anzalone is licensed to practice law in the state of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Middle District of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Luzerne County and Lackawanna County bar associations. She has served as Zone 5 co-chairperson for the Pennsylvania Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, board member and treasurer of the Lackawanna Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, and co-chairperson of the Dickinson School of Law Northeastern Pennsylvania Alumni Dinner.

Taking the lead from Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn’s focus on community, she has been involved in a number of local organizations and boards. She was a member of the Leadership Wilkes-Barre Class of 2007 and a  participant on the Allied Service Ryan’s Run4 team in the New York City  Marathon. She currently serves as a board member of the YMCA, the United Way, and Catholic Social Services Board.
