Richard S. Bishop, who has been a principal of HKQ Law since 1985, specializes in estate planning and estate administration work, as well as elder law matters, real estate transactions, business transactions and corporate matters.
Attorney Bishop represents clients in both Lackawanna and Luzerne counties. His practice in estate planning/estate administration includes structuring simple to more complex estate plans for individual and corporate clients. He has also handled litigation involving estates and personal representatives. He has conducted seminars on governance for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, and has represented numerous local businesses in mergers and acquisitions.
Currently, Attorney Bishop serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Penn State Scranton campus, the ARC Foundation of Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Salvation Army and the Advisory Board for M&T Bank. He is President of Amos Lodge of B’nai B’rith, past President and current member of the Board of Directors of Temple Israel of Scranton, past President and current member of the Board of Directors of Jewish Family Services of Northeastern Pennsylvania, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Schwartz Mack Charitable Foundation.
