Hospital settles medical malpractice suits with two families for $5M

During a federal jury trial, the HKQ Civil Justice Team led by Attorney Joe Quinn won a $5.7 million verdict in compensatory damages on behalf of the family of Colleen Shea, a 28-year-old Pittston woman who was killed when a tractor trailer lost control on Interstate 81, crossed the median and struck her vehicle head-on. After winning the verdict for compensatory damages, the HKQ team successfully argued for punitive damages against the trucking company for outrageous conduct, winning an additional $2.75 million verdict for Shea's survivors.
