PA Wills & Living Wills

Last Will and Testament
If you have questions concerning your Pennsylvania will, or if you want more information about writing a will, contact the PA attorneys at Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn.
Designate your wishes
Your will is a legal document by which you designate the persons who will receive the assets you own. A will is also the instrument used to appoint legal guardians for your minor children. Talk to a lawyer at Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn to determine what you need in your will and how you can make your wishes clear. If you have a will, it is a good idea to review it periodically to ensure that it continues to be accurate.
Know the limits of a will
A legal will can prevent your property from being distributed according to the provisions of state law. A will does not override a beneficiary designation under a life insurance policy, retirement plan, or a joint form of ownership. Our estate planning attorneys can help you determine if a will is sufficient for your needs.
Prepare a living will
The lawyers at Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn can help you write a living will (health-care proxy, medical power of attorney) that will guide your family in making health care decisions if you are unable to make them yourself.
About living wills
Living wills, often called “Health Care Directives,” are documents that instruct health-care providers about the conditions under which you do not want to be artificially sustained by life support. A living will is an important device to protect yourself and ensure that your wishes are carried out, and a properly executed living will prevents a contest between family members. If you do not have a living will, decisions regarding your health care are left to family members, and often they cannot agree or are in conflict about your wishes. A living will ensures that your wishes are respected and will be followed.
When we say, “No one will work harder for you” we mean it.
