Quinn Named Region's Personal Injury Lawyer of Year By National Peer-Review Publication

Best Lawyers in America, the nation's oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, has named Joseph A. Quinn, Jr. as "Personal Injury Litigator of the Year" for 2011 for Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley.

After more than a quarter century in publication, Best Lawyers is designating "Lawyers of the Year" in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community is being honored as the "Lawyer of the Year."

Quinn, who is the senior principal in the Personal Injury Litigation Department at Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn, has gained national recognition for having won many of the largest jury verdicts and settlements in the history of Northeastern Pennsylvania. As a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates, he is considered among the top 100 personal injury attorneys in the United States.

"The Best Lawyers designation is a tremendous honor because it is based on evaluations by my peers," said Quinn. "While I am very proud of the recognition, I want to acknowledge the many attorneys, paralegals, nurses and others who stand behind me every time I walk into a courtroom. I would not be able to successfully represent my clients without their hard work and support."

Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current 17th edition of Best Lawyers in America, which is published for 2011, is based on more than 3.1 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers. Quinn was designated "Personal Injury Litigator of the Year" for all of Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley.

"We continue to believe - as we have believed for more than 25 years - that recognition by one's peers is the most meaningful form of praise in the legal profession," said Steven Naifeh, President of Best Lawyers.

Over a career spanning more than 40 years, Quinn has established a reputation as Northeastern Pennsylvania's top civil trial attorney with a long string of record-setting verdicts and settlements in cases involving medical malpractice, wrongful death, auto accidents and product liability.

In addition to the Inner Circle, Quinn is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, which includes the top 500 personal injury lawyers in the world, and the American Academy of Trial Lawyers. He is certified as a trial specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Quinn is past President of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and the Luzerne County Bar Association, and a past member of the Board of Governors of The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He has been listed every year since 1987 in The Best Lawyers in America, and has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer every year since the program began.

Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn, PC, headquartered in Kingston with offices in Scranton, specializes in personal injury litigation and offers a variety of legal services to businesses, non-profits and individuals.
