STANDARD~SPEAKER QUINN INDUCTED INTO TRIAL LAYWER ACADEMY
Attorney Joseph A. Quinn Jr. was inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers at the annual meeting of the academy in San Diego, Calif., recently. The academy, which has been in existence since 1954, is comprised of a maximum of 500 attorneys throughout the world who have distinguished themselves as outstanding trial lawyers. Quinn is a well known trial lawyer throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania as a result of amassing a series of multi-million dollar jury verdicts. He was one of the first group of attorneys in the nation to become certified as a civil trial specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. For the past seven years, he has been honored by being selected for inclusion in the public legal guide entitled "The Best Lawyers in America." Quinn has also been honored by membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates and in the Order of Barristers. The Laflin resident is a past president of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and a past member of the Board of Governors of the American Trial Lawyers Association. He was a co-author of a book on the Pennsylvania No-Fault Motor Vehicle Insurance Act and regularly lectures at legal seminars throughout Pennsylvania on subjects related to trial practice. Quinn has just completed service as a member of the Civil Procedural Rules Committee, having been appointed to that position by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He was also a hearing member of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and was appointed to the Pennsylvania Judicial Reform Commission by former Gov. Robert P. Casey, served as chairperson for the Trial Court Nominating Commission of Luzerne County for eight years and was a member of the Advisory Committee on judicial and United States Attorney Nominations for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Quinn resides in Laflin with his wife, Carole. Their daughters, Kathleen and Michelle practice law with him. |
