Attorneys in the News — Joseph A. Quinn, Jr.
LOCAL ATTORNEY ANNOUNCED AS MEMBER OF ELITE ASSOCATION
The Inner Circle of Advocates recently announced the election into membership of Joseph A. Quinn, Jr., a principal in the Northeastern Pennsylvania law firm of Hourigan, Kluger & Quinn, P.C. The Inner Circle of Advocates is the most prominent and exclusive association in the United States legal community with membership limited to 100 trial lawyers throughout the country. The stringent requirements to membership include at least 50 courtroom victories and multiple verdicts in excess of a million dollars each on behalf of his clients. Members in the Inner Circle include the most well known trial lawyers in the country. Lawyers don't call the Inner Circle when they want to join. The Inner Circle calls them. Don Keenan, the most immediate Past President of the Inner Circle, explained that, "...when one of the 100 members passes away, retires or becomes a Judge, the Board of the Inner Circle decides who the applicants are going to be. Once Attorney Quinn received a letter inviting him to apply, that did not mean he was automatically in. The entire membership of the Inner Circle wanted to hear all about his unique verdicts, his education, professional accomplishments and community involvement." Mr. Keenan further explained "because our membership is limited to only 100 members nationwide, we always have ten times more applicants than we have positions. We looked at many qualified applicants in the State of Pennsylvania and chose Joe Quinn as the best of the best. Joe demonstrated to our governing Board that he possess fearless tenacity, coupled with excellent trial skills and proven success in the courtroom. Membership in the Inner Circle is attributed to his great successes. We look forward to Joe as a contributing member." Mr. Keenan further explained that, "Joe will now have 99 other law partners, so to speak. If he has any question about trial strategy or the validity of any government study, or needs a unique expert witness, he can call on any one of them." There are presently 6 trial lawyers in the entire State of Pennsylvania who are members of the Inner Circle and Attorney Quinn is the only attorney not from the City of Philadelphia. There has never been a trial lawyer inducted into the Inner Circle from Northeastern Pennsylvania. Attorney Quinn has received many prestigious honors recognizing his trial successes in the past. He is also the only trial lawyer from Northeastern Pennsylvania who is a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has also been honored by membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Order of Barristers. The American Board of Trial Advocates recognizes trial lawyers throughout the country who have displayed courtroom skill and integrity and who have spent considerable time assisting other attorneys in achieving a higher level of technique in the art of courtroom advocacy. He was one of the first group of attorneys in the country certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a Civil Trial Advocate and has remained certified since September 1, 1980. Attorney Quinn has also been recognized in every edition of the legal guide entitled "The Best Lawyers in America". That guide has been referred to as "the best possible, and certainly the most useful guide to the best lawyers in the United States ever compiled," and lists lawyers in specialties throughout the United States. Attorney Quinn, who is a well known trial lawyer throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania as a result of the amassing of a series of multi-million dollar jury verdicts, is a Past President of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and has served two terms as a member of the Board of Governors of the American Trial Lawyers Association. He has also served as a member of the Civil Procedural Rules Committee, having been appointed to that Committee by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He also has served as a Committee Member for the Disciplinary Board for the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and is a Past-Chairperson of the Civil Litigation Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He was also appointed to the Pennsylvania Judicial Reform Commission by former Governor Robert P. Casey, served as Chairperson for the Nominating Commission of Luzerne County for eight years and was a member of the Advisory Committee on Judicial and United States Attorney Nominations for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. |
