PRESIDENT'S AWARD 2002
Arthur L. Piccone, Esq.

This year the Luzerne County Law & Library and Bar Association will present its First Annual President's Award. This award is presented to an individual who has worked unselfishly and untiringly in advancing the highest standards of integrity and ethics of the legal profession. This individual must have been involved in Bar related activities over his or her legal career and demonstrated in his or her daily practice the ideals of civility and collegiality. This individual must have demonstrated involvement in legal activities both at a local and state level as well as maintained a leadership level of giving back to the community with involvement in civic organizations. The individual to receive this award must be one that the entire Bar Association would be proud to have as a recipient.

This year's President's Award is presented to Arthur L. Piccone, Esquire. Attorney Piccone was admitted to the Bar in 1959 after graduating from the Dickinson School of Law. He has been and continues to be active in local and state Bar related activities which would include by way of illustration:

In addition to his commitment to state and local Bar related activities, he has served as the President and Trustee of the West Side Junior Chamber of Commerce, President of the Forty Fort/Kingston Kiwanis, Trustee of the Dickinson School of Law of Penn State University, Board of Governors of the Dickinson School of Law of Penn State University, President of the Dickinson School of Law Alumni Association, and Chairman of the Board of Clearbrook, Inc.

Attorney Piccone has been the recipient of numerous awards for his contributions to the community and to the legal profession. He has been the recipient of the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors Distinguished Citizen Award, IOLTA Leadership Award-PA IOLTA Board, Order of the Barrister's-National Trial Lawyers Honorary Society, PA Bar Association President Award for Leadership in establishing Good Neighbor Outreach Project, Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguished Service presented by the Dickinson School of Law of Penn State University, PA Bar Association's President's Award for Distinguished Leadership to the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation and in recognition of service to the Bar's legislative and governmental affairs committee.
